Musume at The Star: Frisco’s Buzziest New Japanese Restaurant, Reviewed

Musume at The Star — Frisco's Buzziest New Restaurant

The Star’s dining lineup just got its most exciting addition in years. Musume — the acclaimed Dallas Japanese concept — opened a 6,000-square-foot Frisco location, and creator Melanie Hill (@melaniehillfrisco) scored it a 10/10 across the board: food, service, staff, and ambiance.

New restaurant at The Star in Frisco, Texas! Musume just opened this week — everything we had was excellent! 10 out of 10

What is Musume?

Musume (“daughter” in Japanese) comes from Dallas’ Rock Libations Restaurant Group, with executive chef Yuzo Toyama — a Shizuoka native with 20+ years in traditional Japanese culinary arts — running the kitchen. The Frisco location took over the former Sushi Marquee space on the second floor at The Star.

The menu

  • Sushi & sashimi plus small and large plates, tempura, ramen, and salads
  • Omakase: six- or eight-course tasting by chef Toyama
  • Sake: North Dallas’ largest premium selection — 120+ labels
  • Japanese whisky: 60+ options
  • Vegetarian and vegan dishes are well represented

The vibe

Sleek and date-night ready, with The Star’s energy right outside. It works equally for a celebratory dinner, pre-Cowboys-event drinks and rolls, or a slow omakase evening at the counter.

Location & booking

Address: 3625 The Star Blvd, #315 (2nd floor), Frisco, TX 75034. Reservations strongly recommended — it’s the buzziest table in Frisco right now.
